Description
Can this family survive floods, local hostility, and their own prejudices to spread the Gospel?
Join Marilyn, David and Peter as they arrive on the mission field in the spring of ’74! They are tasked with learning a language and translating the Bible, but a string of accidents delays all progress, and a retiring missionary leaves chaos in his wake. Will they find the strength to persevere? A. L. Helland delights readers with this gripping, thought-provoking novel written from the perspective of a young missionary wife.
Isabella –
Gives you a realistic insight into what missionary life is like and a surprising realization that we all struggle with the same emotions and feelings, regardless of where we live or what our occupation is. Well written!
Paulina –
A TOTAL page turner. I read the entire book in one setting. This is not your normal run-of-the-mill missionary story.
From page one, A. L. Helland takes you on a journey, following the life of Marilyn and David Cole. You enter their world, a world that’s filled with fears of the unknown, confusion, hurt, and pain, but amidst all life’s difficulty, there is a bright thread of joy and peace woven though their story. You really feel like you are there walking this path with them, feeling their pain, but also rejoicing with them as they see each blessing God is unfolding everyday of their life.
There is one thing I would change though, that is, I would put a picture of my face on the cover of the book. With this small change, I believe she will sell thousands more 😜
